Badge terms

Do not alter the badge. Keep the link to the vendor page as an ordinary followed link. Keep the category and release month visible.

The badge states an observation. It is not an endorsement, a ranking or a judgment of product quality. Do not describe it as one.

Every number on a badge is the vendor's real dated figure from the printed release: named in n of 10 buyer questions, the count of valid answers with its Wilson 95% interval, the release and its DOI. Badges are generated from the release file, never from a claim, so they cannot drift from the record they cite.

The pinned badge, with a release version in its address, keeps those figures permanently. The latest badge follows the latest published release for its category. The printed release month always identifies the observation. Refreshes can take up to one day.

A badge is free. Claiming a record is free and needs no payment. Corrections to a record are free and never depend on a purchase.

Names are text only. No vendor logo is included. The record is licensed CC BY 4.0 with attribution to Broadcastwell.

Record corrected badge

The Record corrected badge is issued by Broadcastwell only after two Broadcastwell analysts have verified that an engine statement about the vendor, classed wrong or stale under the published Record rules, now matches the vendor's published fact in a later capture. It names the month of that verification. It states an observation about the engines' statements, not an endorsement, a ranking or a judgment of the product, and it does not promise how any engine will answer later.

Ask for it after a correction: write to index@broadcastwell.com. Issued badges are listed in the badge data.
